It does not work at 90% of the DIESEL TURBO engines.At benzine turbo engines it works at all.Like I wrote before it does not work because diesel turbo engines do not have a throttle.Take a look at this picture of how a blow off valve works at a benzine turbo engine when your foot is on the gas pedal.The air pumped by the turbo goes into the engine.
When you take away your foot from the gas pedal the throttle closes and the pressure between turbo and throttle raises.When the pressure achieves a fixed value the blow off valve opens and lets the air out by making the lovely noise.
Because diesel turbo engines do not have a throttle the situation is always like on the first picture and there is no high pressure when stepping off the gas pedal that can be let out by a blow off valve.
