Hi,
The recalibration of the mapsensor has nothing to do with the bigger intercooler.It is because of the higher boost pressure.The original map sensor can only recognize boost pressure up to 1 bar.Higher boost can not be recognized by the map sensor and so the boost pressure over 1 bar is only controlled mechanical by the power of the wastegate.If the settings of the wastegate are not correct and the ecu can not react the engine can be damaged by too high boost pressure.Thats the reason for the recalibration of the map sensor.So that the ecu can handle boost pressure over 1 bar.
If you want to use a bigger intercooler you dont need to change the maps on the ecu.But then you only have little more power because of the lower air temperatures.If you want to use these low air temperatures to get real good power then you have the change the maps for fuel,ignition,boost...in the ecu.The problem with the little standart intercooler is that you can not drive high boost pressures.The air temperatures become very high and the engine starts to knock.The knocksensor recognizes this and the ecu takes back the ignition and the boost pressure and the power is gone.
The size of the intercooler is only important for the air temperatures.The fact that it has more air quantity does not disturb the ecu.The ecu adjusts the necessary fuel/air mixture by the airmeter.The only disadvantage of a too big intercooler and its pipes is that the reactiontime between stepping on the gaspedal and reacting of the engine is a little bit longer.It takes a bit more time to compress the bigger air quantity together between turbocharger and engine.

Cel mai bine ar fi sa se infiinteze o sectiune pentru cei care stiu limba romana dar nu vor sa o foloseasca considerand ca e mai interesant sa posteze in alta limba.
In cazul de fata e mai mult decat evident ca e asa.

Eu unul vreau sa-i multumesc pe aceasta cale lui calibra-turbo pentru sfaturile lui (mie unul imi sunt de mare ajutor), si pentru ca a avut timpul de a posta aici la noi pe forum, el intelege romana insa nu poate sa se exprime corect in limba noastra pentru a ne explica exact, de aceea prefera sa scrie in engleza.
Daca este cineva care nu intelege ce a dorit el sa exprime, va fi placerea mea sa ii traduc.

N-ar strik sa traduci si sa faci si un tutorial, cu poze, in word ... il trec eu in pdf si il upload-ez pe clubopel.ro la ICE ...
